Edge becomes first Windows browser with accelerated app launches

Microsoft said Edge is the first browser to support accelerated app launches on Windows 11. The feature requires the optional October 2026 security update for versions 25H2, 26H2 and 26H1 and speeds up launching an already-running Edge by up to 15%, or up to 33% under heavy multitasking.
