GitLab to impose rate limits on API, web and Git requests starting October

GitLab will tighten limits on API, web and Git requests over HTTPS starting in October. Free-tier users and unauthenticated requests will be affected first: previews on October 7 and 14, full enforcement from October 19. Enterprise customers will see changes only in January.

• Limit preview windows: October 7 and 14, 15:00 to 19:00 UTC
• Free-tier limits take effect from October 19
• Enterprise users affected only from January
• Anthropic and GitHub have already introduced similar limits
