Eskom Opens Bidding for Tubatse, Africa's Largest Pumped Hydro Project

Eskom Green launched a qualification round on October 13, 2026 for the Tubatse Pumped Storage Scheme, a 1.5 GW / 21 GWh facility in Limpopo province. Responses are due by November 30, with construction targeted for 2028 and commercial operation around 2038.
