Europe must step up open source funding, says Linux Europe GM

Linux Foundation Europe GM Thierry Carrez said European companies underinvest in open source governance despite relying on it for digital sovereignty. The foundation's 2026 report found 59% of European organisations contribute code, but only 37% take part in project governance.
