Linux AMP Stack Has Sound Foundations but Needs More Testing

At Embedded Linux Conference Europe 2026, kernel developer Wolfram Sang assessed Linux building blocks for asymmetric multiprocessing (AMP), calling them sound but under-tested. remoteproc core commits grew from 175 in Linux 5.0 to roughly 1,550, while mailbox saw only about four authors contributing more than five patches.
