FRITZ!OS 8.50 rolls out with DNS filtering, auto-prioritisation and Matter bridge

FRITZ! has begun rolling out FRITZ!OS 8.50 for its routers and mesh repeaters, starting with the FRITZ!Box 7690. The update adds a router-level DNS filter, automatic prioritisation of real-time traffic, extended FRITZ! Failsafe for 4G/5G models and Matter bridge support.

• FRITZ!Box 7690 is first to get FRITZ!OS 8.50, other models follow in coming weeks
• DNS filter blocks ads, trackers, phishing and malware for every device on the network
• Automatic prioritisation boosts video conferencing and online gaming without manual setup
• FRITZ! Failsafe now works on 4G/5G routers and via a LAN port
