UPI MDR Needed To Fund AI Cybersecurity, Says NPCI Chief Dilip Asbe

NPCI MD and CEO Dilip Asbe said MDR on UPI is essential to fund increasingly expensive AI-based cybersecurity tools. The MDR regime takes effect October 15: 0.4% on payments above ₹2,000, capped at ₹300, with expected collections of ₹13,000–15,000 Cr in the first year.
