Microsoft is retiring three Microsoft 365 companion apps on Windows 11

Microsoft will retire its People, Files, and Calendar companion apps for Microsoft 365 by December 16, 2026. The company had force-installed them on Windows 11 PCs and pinned them to the taskbar, and users must now remove them manually.
