Earth Has Breached 7 of 9 Planetary Boundaries, Scientists Warn

The 2026 Planetary Health Check by the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research, authored by 60 scientists, found that humanity has transgressed seven of nine planetary boundaries. Only stratospheric ozone depletion and atmospheric aerosol loading improved over the past decade, while all breached boundaries show worsening trends.
