Nuxt 4.5 ships streaming SSR behind a flag
Nuxt 4.5 adds experimental streaming SSR: the server flushes an HTML shell immediately and streams the body as Vue renders, cutting TTFB. Once the first byte is sent, status and headers are locked, so setResponseStatus and cookie writes in pages no longer reach the client.
- Enabled via the experimental.ssrStreaming flag in nuxt.config.ts
- Bots and crawlers get a buffered response by default
- Routes with redirect, cache, ISR or SWR fall back to buffered rendering
- Per-route opt-out uses routeRules with streaming: false
