Finnish police prepare digital ID issuance for 2027

Finnish police say preparations are far advanced for a digital identity credential launching in 2027, accessed through a wallet built by the DVV agency. The credential will be issued based on a valid passport or national ID card and will run on the EUDI Wallet. Finland's rollout lands after the EU-wide December 24 deadline.
