Philippine police push National ID for SIM card registration

The PNP wants the National ID used for SIM card registration and wants the process done in person to curb cybercrime and online scams. PNP-ACG director Police Maj. Gen. Wilson Asueta said current policies lack strong identity authentication, as SIM cards can be easily registered online and bought anywhere.
