Malaysia's JPN confirms eKYC issues with new MyKad

Malaysia's National Registration Department (JPN) has acknowledged that the new MyKad fails eKYC verification in Touch 'n Go eWallet, Ryt Bank, AEON Bank, GXBank and MyDigital ID. eKYC providers are updating their systems, but no timeline was given; MyDigital ID online registration for the new card is expected from 1 October 2026.
