NordVPN 6.0 for Linux: NordWhisper, P2P on all servers, faster OpenVPN

NordVPN released version 6.0.0 of its Linux app on October 22, 2026. Obfuscated servers now run on the in-house NordWhisper protocol, OpenVPN is updated to 2.7.7 with DCO on kernel 6.16+, P2P works on every standard server, and several legacy CLI commands were removed.

• Obfuscation now uses NordWhisper instead of OpenVPN XOR; set obfuscate command removed
• OpenVPN 2.7.7 with DCO out of the box on Linux kernel 6.16 or newer
• P2P supported on all standard servers; dedicated P2P server group dropped
• tplite, tpl, cybersec and whitelist aliases removed; Linux app has no auto-update
