WhatsApp launches account-free guest calls

WhatsApp now lets people without an account join calls through a computer browser. Calls are free, end-to-end encrypted, have no time limit and support up to 32 participants; guests can share their screen, use emoji reactions and raise their hand.

• Guests join via a shared link in a browser, enter a name and wait to be admitted
• Up to 32 participants, no time limit, end-to-end encrypted
• Guests cannot see phone numbers, send messages or add others to the call
• Google and Outlook calendar integrations are planned for later this year
