HelixSR runs DLSS on older AMD GPUs in place of FSR 3
The HelixSR tool swaps FSR 3.1 for DLSS 3.7 (Model E) in patched games, tricking them into thinking FSR is still active. Upscaling runs on regular AMD shader cores, offering slightly better image quality at a small performance cost — a few frames in Cyberpunk 2077 and Alan Wake 2 on an RX 9070 XT.
- HelixSR replaces FSR 3.1 with DLSS 3.7 Model E without Tensor cores
- Cyberpunk 2077 on RX 9070 XT: 190 fps with FSR vs 189 fps with DLSS in Quality
- Alan Wake 2 Quality: 164 fps with FSR vs 151 fps with DLSS
- Tool targets older AMD cards that cannot use FSR 4
