Google Begins Fixing Googlebook OS After Rocky Launch

Google is rolling out Googlebook OS updates that simplify first-time setup and add Better Together phone integration for Samsung devices running Android 17 and One UI 9.0. The OS launched with missing features and regressions compared to Chrome OS.

• A Google Play services update reduces Cross-devices setup steps and fixes the QR code lingering on screen
• Better Together features (Continue On, Cast My Apps, Quick Access, Notification Sync) will work with Samsung phones on Android 17 and One UI 9.0
• At launch, Googlebook OS was incompatible with the world's most popular phones
• Google announced the fixes on Reddit rather than through an official blog
