HumeLink uses Infravision drones to string 9,000 km of cable on 820 towers
In Australia, helicopters and Infravision drones are stringing over 9,000 km of high-voltage conductor across 820 towers on the HumeLink project between Wagga Wagga and Bannaby. The method is five times faster than traditional stringing and works in winds above 50 km/h and temperatures from below 0 to above 50 °C. The 365 km, 500 kV project is expected to deliver over $1 billion in net benefits.
