Bosnia and Herzegovina debuts biometric voting in nationwide elections

Bosnia and Herzegovina's October 4 general elections marked the country's first nationwide use of biometric voter identification, ballot scanning and rapid results transmission. The system was run by IDDEEA with contractor Smartmatic BH; biometric identification succeeded in over 97% of cases and about 1.4 million citizens voted.
