FCC clears nationwide test of cellular networks for drones

The FCC approved a temporary waiver for the DOT's Mobile Network Aviation Assessment Program (MNAAP), a nationwide test of whether commercial wireless networks can support drone connectivity and safety services. The program runs until October 1, 2029, with up to 2,000 pilots and 200 drone operators.
