Ubuntu website hit by 'sustained' DDoS attack
Canonical says its Ubuntu and Canonical websites are under a sustained distributed denial-of-service attack, with some services intermittently unavailable. It is the second major attack this year, after a May incident that took down Launchpad, the Snap Store and Ubuntu SSO.
- Attack affects canonical.com, ubuntu.com, blog.ubuntu.com and developer.ubuntu.com
- APT repos, CD image server, Launchpad, PPAs, Snap Store and SSO remain operational
- May 2026 attack knocked out Launchpad, Snap Store, SSO and mailing lists
- Canonical has not disclosed who was behind either attack
