Huawei Shows Experimental XMFS at LPC 2026 for Cross-Node Shared Memory
Huawei engineers presented XMFS (eXpress Memory FS), an experimental filesystem for Linux servers using CXL 3.0 or Huawei's UnifiedBus, at the Linux Plumbers Conference in Prague on October 5. It lets applications access shared memory on other nodes via ordinary POSIX file calls. Code exists only for openEuler; it has not entered mainline Linux review.

- Built for CXL 3.0 and Huawei's UnifiedBus interconnect
- Remote memory accessed through standard POSIX file calls
- v8 patch set in openEuler touches 15 files, not mainline
