YouTube auto-labels AI video, but creators can remove the label
Since May 2026 YouTube applies an AI disclosure label automatically when its systems detect undisclosed photorealistic AI content. Creators can update the label in Studio, except for content made with Veo or Dream Screen or carrying C2PA metadata, which stays permanent. The label affects neither recommendations nor monetization.
