RTIPC brings near-zero-overhead inter-process communication to Linux
RTIPC is a new Linux IPC library for hard real-time workloads, combining shared memory with a wait-free SPSC queue so data moves without syscalls in the data path. The implementation was formally verified with SPIN/Modex, and C11, C++, Rust and Python versions are in development.
- Data transfers go directly through shared memory with no syscalls in the data path
- A force push operation replaces the oldest message when the queue is full
- Message size and maximum queue length are fixed at channel creation
- C11, C++, Rust and Python implementations are in progress; Java, C# and Go planned
