virtio-nvgpu Brings Shared NVIDIA GPU Access to Linux KVM Guests

Nestri Labs is developing virtio-nvgpu, an experimental project that lets Linux KVM guests use NVIDIA GPUs without traditional PCI passthrough. Four guests ran simultaneously on a single GeForce RTX 3060 with about 2% overhead or less.

• The GPU stays on the Linux host and is shared by multiple isolated guest VMs
• Demo: four guests running at once on a single GeForce RTX 3060
• Performance is close to bare metal with about 2% overhead or less
• Vulkan, Wayland, NVENC and basic CUDA device enumeration are supported
