Schneider Electric unveiled what it calls the world's first fully software-defined medium-voltage switchgear at YOTTA 2026 in Las Vegas, already in a live pilot with Equinix. It also showed a 38 kV SF6-free AirSeT GIS and a Generator-to-Chip delivery model with Wärtsilä Energy and Stanley Consultants.
- Equinix pilot is the first live deployment; programs run through 2027
- Broader availability planned for 2028
- 87% less control wiring and 91% fewer terminals vs conventional switchgear
- RM AirSeT 38 extends the platform from 24 kV to 38 kV, orders in 2027
