AWS Transform adds direct block storage migration to FSx for ONTAP

With the August 30, 2026 update, AWS Transform (MGN) can target Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP directly during server migration, skipping the intermediate EBS step. Boot volumes still stay on Amazon EBS, and only agent-based iSCSI replication is supported.

• FSx for ONTAP is now selectable as the MGN target storage type
• Boot disks always remain on Amazon EBS; mixing types is not allowed
• Only agent-based replication is supported, with data placed as LUNs in a FlexVol
• During Finalize, physical capacity temporarily peaks at about 2x
