US DOE awards $99 million to 21 next-generation geothermal projects

On September 21 the US Department of Energy announced a $99 million funding round for next-generation geothermal systems. The money will be split across 21 projects: 16 focused on resource exploration and assessment, five on real-world technology validation. Project data will be made public via the DOE Geothermal Data Repository.
