US backs Quaise Energy's superhot geothermal plant with up to $25M

Quaise Energy's Project Obsidian in central Oregon has been selected by the US Department of Energy for up to $25 million in funding to study its first two wells. The company aims to deliver more than 50 MW to the Pacific Northwest grid by 2030, with a potential expansion to 1 GW.
