Microsoft Patch Tuesday breaks copy and paste in Excel, no fix yet

After installing patch KB5002914, paste stopped working in Excel 2016, 2019, 2021 and 2024, failing silently without error. Microsoft acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix, but none is available yet.
