NVIDIA DLSS 5 Gets Open-Source Vulkan Reimplementation, Runs on RTX 40 GPUs and Even in Web Browsers

Developer MAAN released OpenDLSS-NR, an open-source Vulkan reimplementation of DLSS 5 Neural Rendering. The project recreates the 71-block network from version 310.8.0 with bit-exact results, runs on an RTX 4070 SUPER, and includes a WebGPU version for browsers.

• OpenDLSS-NR recreates the 71-block DLSS 5 neural network from version 310.8.0
• Full network runs in about 2.7 ms on an RTX 4070 SUPER
• WebGPU version takes 72 ms at 512×512 without Tensor Cores
• NVIDIA's proprietary model weights are not distributed and must be supplied separately
