Cloudflare frees 100 TB of memory in 1.1.1.1 DNS cache

Cloudflare redesigned the in-memory representation of the DNS cache behind its 1.1.1.1 resolver in Rust, cutting the per-entry footprint by 56% and freeing roughly 100 TB of working-set memory fleetwide. Cache insertion throughput rose 43% and lookup latency fell 19%.
