Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6: +8% multi-core, but runs hot

Qualcomm benchmarked the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 on reference devices with 24GB RAM. The 2nm chip with 5GHz peak clocks beats the A20 Pro by 20–22% in graphics, but overheats and drains up to 9% battery in minutes of testing.

• Geekbench 7 multi-core: +8% over last gen, but Apple A20 Pro leads by ~10% in single-core
• 3DMark Steel Nomad Light: +20%, Wild Life Extreme: +22%, Solar Bay ray tracing: +17% vs A20 Pro
• Reference units: 24GB RAM and 4400mAh battery, overheating forces cooldown pauses between tests
