KDE picks enterprise, documentation and styling as new goals for 2026–2028

KDE has selected three community goals for the 2026–2028 cycle: "KDE for Enterprise and Deployments" with Web and Kerberos SSO, LDAP integration and admin tooling in Plasma; a documentation overhaul with a single source of truth; and a next-generation styling system built on the Ocean design system and the Union theming engine. KDE's benchmark for enterprise success is enough demand for SUSE Linux Enterprise and Red Hat Enterprise Linux to bring Plasma back.

• Enterprise goal covers Web and Kerberos SSO, LDAP in Plasma and password expiry handling
• Plans include reliable NFS and SMB mounts plus headless and terminal-server deployments
• Docs will move to Hugo or Sphinx with Git workflows and short task-oriented tutorials
• Ocean design system and Union theming engine will unify styling across Plasma and apps
