SereneDB launches Krummelanke S3 search engine

German startup SereneDB released Krummelanke, an Apache 2.0 search engine that runs full-text search and analytics directly over Parquet files and Iceberg tables in S3 without copying data. In a 92-query benchmark on 100 million and 1 billion OpenTelemetry logs it posted geomeans of 1.05x and 1.07x, beating Elasticsearch at 2.8x.
