India 3nm Chip Roadmap: What Semicon 2.0 Actually Promises in 8 Years (2026)

India's IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the country will master 7–3nm processes within 8 years under the approved Semicon 2.0 program with a budget of ₹1,27,500 crore (~$15 billion). Currently, the only operational fab SCL Mohali produces chips at ~180nm, and the first commercial Tata–PSMC fab in Dholera is still under construction for mature nodes.
