IQM entangles all 54 qubits on Emerald, opens full chip to cloud users
Finnish quantum hardware firm IQM Quantum Computers said its Emerald processor achieved simultaneous entanglement across all 54 qubits. The full-chip GHZ state reached a fidelity of 0.516, above the 0.500 threshold for genuine multipartite entanglement. Cloud users on IQM Resonance can now use the entire chip instead of roughly 30 qubits.
- GHZ fidelity across 54 qubits was 0.516, above the 0.500 threshold
- A 40-qubit control run returned 0.515 without readout error mitigation
- Cloud users previously had reliable access to about 30 of 54 qubits
- Crystal 54 architecture uses transmons in a square lattice with tunable couplers
