Developer shrinks Windows 11 to 667MB, fitting it on a CD

Developer NTDEV has unveiled Pico11, a stripped-down Windows 11 build whose ISO is 667MB instead of the usual 35GB and takes about 883MB once installed. Edge, the Microsoft Store, Copilot and other AI features, Windows Update and most apps are removed, leaving seven basic programs. The project is currently a proof of concept.

• Pico11 ISO is 667MB and about 883MB after installation
• Size cut by roughly 97.5% from the full 35GB
• Edge, Microsoft Store, Copilot, AI features and Windows Update removed
• Only Paint, Notepad, Task Manager, Settings, Calculator, Explorer and Terminal remain
