Shopify Global Catalog REST API shuts down on November 2, 2026

Shopify will stop serving the Global Catalog REST API on November 2, 2026, replacing it with Global Catalog MCP built on the Universal Commerce Protocol. Four REST endpoints, including search, product lookup and batch lookup, will fail after that date, and every new call must carry a UCP agent profile.

• All requests to the old Global Catalog host fail after November 2, 2026
• search_catalog, get_product and lookup_catalog replace the four REST endpoints
• Global Catalog lookup_catalog accepts up to 50 identifiers per request
• Every MCP call needs meta.ucp-agent.profile or returns a 422 error
