GitHub Actions drops Node 20 from runners on 23 September

GitHub removed Node 20 from Actions runners on 23 September 2026, but actions declaring using: node20 keep working: since 16 June the runner rewrites node20 to node24 before execution. The ACTIONS_ALLOW_USE_UNSECURE_NODE_VERSION escape hatch no longer restores Node 20, and the next deadline is macos-14 retirement on 2 November.

From 25 September self-hosted runners must be at least version 2.329.0
macos-14 is retired on 2 November and jobs with that label will fail
