IBM unveils platform to control AI agent sprawl in enterprises

IBM combined Agent Identity, HashiCorp Vault and watsonx Orchestrate to inventory AI agents, issue short-lived credentials and revoke access in real time. The system supports Okta, Entra and Ping and integrates with Nvidia's OpenShell runtime. Gartner expects over 150,000 agents per average Fortune 500 enterprise by 2028.
