Opera unveils WebAI standard for running AI models locally in the browser

Opera introduced WebAI, a new web standard that lets users run AI models directly in its browser without the cloud. The early preview is available in Opera One and supports open-weight models like Google's Gemma, plus Apple's on-device model on Macs. Opera GX and Opera Neon will get it soon.
