Google Docs now opens and edits Markdown files without conversion

Google Docs now lets users open, edit, and collaborate on Markdown files without converting them, keeping comments, suggested edits, and version history. Google Drive also gains formatted Markdown previews, and the feature is available to all personal and Workspace accounts.

• Markdown .md files open in Docs with a format badge, no conversion needed
• Comments, suggested edits, and version history work on original files
• Drive shows formatted previews with headings, tables, and hyperlinks
• Feature is free for personal and Workspace Google accounts
