Google Docs and Drive gain native Markdown support

Google now lets users view, edit, and collaborate on Markdown files directly in Docs, with rendered previews in Drive. The update rolls out automatically to Workspace and personal accounts over up to two weeks.

• Editing works in WYSIWYG mode or raw Markdown syntax
• Drive renders Markdown with clickable links and structured tables
• Previously, importing into Doc altered formatting and stripped comments
• Rollout is automatic and may take up to two weeks
