Pune police ask Google and Apple to remove Rapido app

Pune police have asked Google and Apple to pull Rapido from their app stores over unlicensed bike taxi operations in the city. Rapido's aggregator licence application, filed on August 11, is still pending while rides continue.

• On October 15 Pune authorities ordered Rapido to suspend bike taxis until licensed
• On October 16 a decoy ride led to an FIR against parent Roppen Transportation
• Maharashtra removed Ola, Uber and Rapido apps in May but restored them a day later
• 715 illegal Rapido bike taxi rides were logged from April 2025 to March 2026, versus 43 for Uber and 18 for Ola
