AWS launches ECS Gateway for managed ECS ingress
AWS announced Amazon ECS Gateway, a managed ingress solution for ECS services. ECS now provisions and manages the underlying Application Load Balancer, target groups, HTTPS listeners, certificates and DNS, with one ALB serving up to 25 services.
- ECS Gateway automates ALB, target groups and TLS certificate provisioning
- One ALB serves up to 25 ECS services via host-based routing
- Services opt in with a gateway connector naming the container port
- Each service gets a generated HTTPS hostname like <id>.ecs.<region>.on.aws
