Microsoft extends consumer Windows 10 ESU to October 12, 2027
Microsoft quietly pushed the end of its consumer Extended Security Updates program for Windows 10 from October 13, 2026 to October 12, 2027. The change appears in Microsoft's ESU documentation and an editor's note on the Windows Experience Blog. Existing enrollees keep receiving updates automatically through the new date.
- Consumer ESU now ends October 12, 2027 instead of October 13, 2026
- Only personal-use PCs on Windows 10 22H2 qualify; AD-joined and MDM-managed devices do not
- One ESU license covers up to 10 devices on the same Microsoft account
- ESU delivers security updates only, with no new features or technical support
