Google Messages rolls out Enhanced Protection against spam and scams

Google Messages for Android is rolling out an opt-in Enhanced Protection mode. It uses cloud Gemini models to detect scam intent in conversations with unknown senders and on-device Gemini Nano to check unfamiliar links; enhanced link protection is available on Pixel 10+, Galaxy S26, Z Flip 8, and Z Fold 8.
