HeyGen's HyperFrames renders HTML to video with deterministic output, hits 70K stars
HeyGen released HyperFrames, an Apache 2.0 open-source framework that turns an HTML page with timing attributes into MP4 by seeking frame by frame in headless Chrome and encoding with FFmpeg. The project passed 70,000 GitHub stars in under eight months, and identical input produces byte-identical output.
- Rendering seeks one frame at a time via HeadlessExperimental.beginFrame instead of recording the screen
- A 90-frame 1280x720 test title card rendered in 3.7 seconds and matched byte for byte
- Requires Node.js 22+ and FFmpeg; ships a CLI, about 450 blocks and agent skills
- The --docker flag pins Chromium, fonts and encoder for identical output everywhere
