Concat is an open-source video editor with a built-in MCP server for AI agents
Concat is pitched as a free CapCut alternative with auto-captions, text-to-speech, background removal and 4K export. It runs locally on a Rust engine with a GPU compositor, supports macOS, Windows, Linux and Android, ships under AGPL-3.0 and includes a built-in MCP server and JSON-RPC API so AI agents can drive editing.
- Built-in MCP server launches via concat --mcp, alongside a JSON-RPC API and gRPC
- Captions use local Whisper; TTS and voice cloning run offline
- 4K export, multi-track cutting, keyframes and background removal
- AGPL-3.0 licensed; Windows builds are not code-signed yet
